Commitment

• Positions require 5-10 hours per month, virtual and/or in person

• Attend monthly board meetings, virtual and/or in person

• Attend 7 out of 12 VU ATX events during your term

• Pay annual Board Member dues, based on a sliding scale

 

Term

• August 2024 – July 2025

• Board member terms are limited to two consecutive years; may continue if majority of board votes for additional consecutive year(s)

 

About You!

• You are passionate about Volunteering Untapped and want to make a positive impact on the Austin community!

• You want to support Austin and its community members as the city experiences unprecedented growth and change

• You write friendly, personalized and professional emails

• You enjoy collaborating with others and able to work independently

• Non-profit experience a plus but not required

• You: demonstrate ability to multitask; take initiative; work independently; have creative problem-solving skills; are dynamic, flexible, organized, and collaborative

Director of Fundraising Skills

• Gather event specific donations, specifically: 1) Obtain coffee/snack donations for each month’s event and/or 2) Obtain event specific donations for each month’s events

• Gather corporate sponsorships/donations for specific or general VU ATX use

• general use: supplies for nonprofits/events (i.e. paint, tools, tarps, etc.)

• specific use: T-shirt sponsors for giveaways, VU ATX swag

• Communicate with Director of Finance and FNC Philly (fiscal sponsor) to track donations

• Apply for national and local grants to raise money for VU ATX with the help of FNC Philly

• Build relationships with local businesses, educate businesses on impact and value proposition

• Grant writing experience preferred
